Brian Reeves has been there in my recording career from day one, first note first bar, first song. As the engineer for the debut Billy Idol record he helped guide a very green Steve Stevens through the then intimidating world of recording, in 1982. The opening harmonic guitar effect on White wedding that is now etched in the minds of the first MTV generation…yeah Brian Reeves recorded and mixed that. He was always respectful of me and genuinely wanted to get the best out of every musician on the session. The fact that I still record and work with him, some 38 years later should tell you everything about his character as a friend and master craftsman. I can rest assured that he has my best interests in mind and always sees the big picture. He’s a walking history of recorded music (Giorgio Moroder, anyone?) but still humble. I cannot recommend his work enough for any project, any genre. He’s a badass and he’s my friend.

For over three decades, I have utilised the talents of Brian Reeves. As Head of A&R at Hollywood Records, I relied on Brian’s mixing expertise for artists such as Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Grace Potter and the Nocternals, Jesse McCartney, Vanessa Hudgens, Aly & AJ, and Sheila Nicholls to name a few. Brian not only has many years of experience mixing hit records, he also has the seasoned insight that can help any young band or artist achieve their musical vision.

Brian has tracked and mixed a wide variety of productions for me including, rock, pop, r&b, country, opera and orchestra. He won’t force his opinion or sound on you, but instead makes it his mission to give you the mix you’re trying to achieve. He has the uncanny ability to be a sonic chameleon. Easy going and accommodating is how I’d describe his demeanor. Those traits, combined with his excellent ears and years of experience, are the reasons he’s been making my productions sound great for years and will for years to come. Brian is my “go to” mixer. Period.

I have had the pleasure of working with Brian Reeves over the past 10 years and can honestly say he is one of the best engineers I’ve experienced in my career of over 30 years. Beyond his attention to detail and pleasant demeanor he possesses the quality of immersing himself in the work and developing a sense of care on each and every project as if it were his own. After 18 years working in the music department at Saturday Night Live and over 10 years with the Disney music group I can honestly say that given a choice I would choose Brian to work with over anyone else.

Brian Reeves has been my go-to mixer for every record I have produced in the last 25 years! Rock, Pop, R&B….it doesn’t make a difference, Brian will NAIL the mix! Not only does Brian make the music sound better sonically, but he comes up with great musical ideas that make me look better as a producer. Additionally, he is an incredible human being with an amazing sense of humor and wit and an infectious laugh. He makes my job easier and is a great joy to be around. I know that if Brian is mixing, it is a guarantee that I will love the result every time!”
